Sam Hammar Says Yes for Melrose

Too often in Melrose, we hear the word ‘no’. We’re told that the things we want to do here – open new businesses, improve our schools, build new public safety buildings, even get pot holes filled – are impossible, no one will support it, that’s not the way we do it here. Our elected officials seem stuck too, not able to effect change but at the same time resentful of anyone who asks for something new or different. It’s so frustrating and it doesn’t have to be this way. In a small city full of creative and hard working people, we can choose to embrace what’s possible. We can say ‘yes’!

This is why I am so excited to support Sam Hammar for Mayor. Sam says ‘yes’. She leads with it. And it’s this spirit of possibility that is so important in City Hall. All three mayoral candidates know the realities and limitations of our budget, the processes needed to deliver city services, and that they have a team of experts on staff to make things happen alongside them. What we need to do is elect the person who believes we can make hard things happen in Melrose, who will inspire and lead our community, and who will roll up her sleeves and do the work on behalf of every one of us. Sam has a track record of making things happen. In her work for the City of Boston, at the State House, and in Melrose, she listens to people, understands needs, finds opportunities, and gets things done. She works within the system when possible and despite the system when necessary to deliver. This is exactly what we need in Melrose.

If you are ready to unlock our potential as a great small city, Sam Hammar is your candidate. And she has the experience to back it up. Let’s say ‘yes’ to what’s possible in Melrose with a vote for Sam on September 19.
