Sam Hammer is the Change We Need in City Hall

There’s something about Sam Hammar. While collaborating with Sam and Melrose Together on the Art on Essex art project, she was a driven and persistent force, engaging our city leaders, enlivening and drawing our attention to downtown businesses, and spotlighting immigrant contributions to our community. I’ve witnessed her activate our community with her bold civic engagement efforts not only with Melrose Together, but with the Melrose Creative Alliance and the Women's Commission as well. She turns ideas into positive action.

Sam is an agent of change at the grassroots level. With the combination of her versatile City of Boston and Massachusetts State Government work experience, and her proactive approach engaging our diverse community, she has pushed for transparency of our city's operation and budget. Sam has the skills and is the change we need to lead and serve Melrose.
